Ice
We're sittin', ain't no lookin',
Trying to make it work but it ain't workin',
We're side by side, but miles away,
I'm wondering if I can make it through the day.
The air's so frozen I can walk on it,
The floor's so icy I can skate on it,
I'm having hypothermia, get the emergency,
She's looking but she won't dial the number in.
We're standin' on the north pole, I need my coat,
I'm drowning in ice water, make me cold,
But maybe its the hope of your love keepin' me afloat,
You feel it but you ain't helpin', though.
So now we sittin' side by side,
We ain't lookin' into each other's eyes,
No words said to break the ice,
My silent tears frozen so I can't cry.
So we let our messages fade to dust,
Allow winter to come and cover us,
Stare at things falling apart, because
we doing nothing to salvage this love.
I'm forced to look at you drift away,
Through the white snow that we used to play,
This ain't Christmas, its doomsday,
So is this the price I've got to pay?
I'm just trying to give my love to her,
I mean no harm, I'm a peacemaker,
But it ain't workin' out, I'm not sure
if we can continue like this any longer.
So we sittin' side by side,
Nobody's talkin', no one's listenin'.
Our relationship has turned into ice,
I wish I can melt it back to the way we've been.
So we sittin' side by side,
But what use is it when it makes me wanna cry,
When you ain't lookin' down the row,
And I'm finding my courage but I'm not bold,
I'm cold.
Please end this pain, light the fire again,
And shield it from the pouring rain,
Let's save it together, its not too late,
So we can feel the warmth of our love again.
